Sunderland vs Chelsea: Talbi’s Late Winner Stuns Blues

Sunderland and Chelsea match provided one of the most major twists of the season. The Black Cats recent promotion under Regis Le Bris shocked Stamford Bridge and won the match 2-1, and the match was topped by the 93 rd minute goal of Chemsdine Talbi.

To Chelsea, it was another home defeat. The boos which shook to full time told their own tale missed chances, lack of tactical orders and an alarming lack of initiative. What was to be a ladder to the summit of the table, became a sharp notice of their discrepancy.

This made the fans of Chelsea hope that this would be a typical win when the goal was opened by Alejandro Garnacho in the fourth minute. The forward active and straight forward who got a pass produced by Pedro Neto, rushed around Nordi Mukiele and shot a low blast past Robin Roefs. Stamford Bridge erupted.

And at that point, it appeared that Chelsea was prepared to exude dominance. They controlled early possession with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo at the center of the midfield and Joao Pedro replacing the injured Cole Palmer. Nonetheless, the composition of its shape, Sunderland 5-4-1, was not ready to crumble.

Towards the 20 minute point there was a change of energy. Sunderland confidence increased, and he pressed intelligently and countered with menace. The red flags in the case of Chelsea were obvious, as the crosses were being cleared comparatively easily, and the pace had slowed down.

With the beginning of the second half the initial spark of Chelsea died away. Garnacho that had begun well was unable to create an impact in the game and was moved by Estevao Willian. Meanwhile Marc Guiu making his debut in the first game of the league since coming in by Barcelona was kept quiet by Dan Ballard and Lutsharel Geertruida.

Chelsea seldom resembled boycing again, in spite of their physical superior possession. Clear on clear and sharner and sharner were the counters of Sunderland. Le Bris and his men were believers and every difficulty was overcome by them, every clearance shouted along by their travelling supporters.

Manager Enzo Maresca remained frozen there on the touchline, seeing his system victimised. Even his strategic adjustments such as having Tosin Adarabioyo to play as a tall person, through the introduction of Tosin, only appeared to destabilise his defense even more. The absence of Palmer to use imagination in Chelsea was palpable.

Maresca acknowledged after the game that we were not good enough. We had not made much except the goal. We struggled. We require our players to do 100 percent. His words summed up the night.

As Chelsea knocked on the door, a masterpiece was played by Regis Le Bris off the bench. Sunderland were short, courageous and stern. The left was dominated by Reinildo Mandava who had returned after suspending and the defense of Chelsea was continually troubled by Isidor and Brobbey.

Each change Le Bris introduced created force. Introduced in the middle of the second half, Brian Brobbey became the centre of the Sunderland attack. His physical prowess and ball possession provided an escape to his side and his brain power would be instrumental in terms of preventing time.

To Sunderland this was the sequel of a great story. Their initial years in the Premier league have been historic- the best by a promoted team since 2008. They have been playing a tactical football and fearless under Le Bris.

Le Bris was a practical man, and endeavored to moderate the forebodings:

We still have 40 points to make, he said. “We stay humble. However, I am proud of the player performance. They thought, and they had this victory.

However, at this performance rate the aspirations of Sunderland may fly much higher. They are now sitting in the champions league positions, crushing their adversaries and narrating new histories.

This was another installment of a wonderful tale to Sunderland. They have begun their history in the Premier League on a historic note-the best promoted history in the league since 2008. With Le Bris they have blended battle knowledge and unrestricted football.Le Bris, being a practical man, endeavoured to restrain hopes:

That is our objective of 40 points, he said. “We stay humble. However, I am proud of the performance of the players. They thought and they should have this victory.

However, in this kind of performance, Sunderland would be able to take its goals much higher. They have taken the seat in the champions league spots, which were not predicted and have changed the story.
