The Formula E Madrid E-Prix was really exciting. Jaguar did a great job. Antonio Felix da Costa from Jaguar won the race and his teammate Mitch Evans came in second. This is da Costas win in a row in the 2026 season.
The race started with Nyck Cassidy in the lead. He was ahead of Nyck de Vries and da Costa. The first few laps were action packed. Pascal Wehrlein was moving up fast. Dan Ticktum had a great start. He moved from ninth to place.. Things changed quickly. De Vries tried to pass but ended up hitting him and damaging his car. He had to go to the back of the pack and got a time penalty.
Meanwhile Ticktum kept moving up and got to place. Cassidy was still in the lead. Could not get away from the other drivers. Then strategy became important. Felipe Drugovich used Attack Mode early. Moved up fast. He even took the lead for a while. Then Pepe Martí took the lead. The crowd loved it.. It was clear that his strategy would not work out later in the race.
Things changed again when the drivers started pitting. Mitch Evans and Oliver Rowland took the lead for a while. When everyone had pitted Maximilian Günther and da Costa were in the front. They were fighting hard. Wehrlein was close behind.
As the race was ending, strategy and timing were key. The drivers were using their Attack Modes. Changing positions all the time. Da Costa did a job and took the lead. He used his Attack Mode to stay of the other drivers. Behind him Sébastien Buemi and Nico Müller were pushing hard. Evans was also moving up.
In the end da Costa won the race. He was very calm. Crossed the finish line first. Evans came in second 0.386 seconds behind. Wehrlein got place in a very exciting last turn. The top four drivers were all very close separated by less than a second.
This result shows that Jaguar is getting stronger in the 2026 season. Both da Costa and Evans did a job. Da Costas two wins in a row mean he is a contender for the title. Evans is also doing well. Helping the team. Wehrleins third place keeps Porsche in the fight. They could not keep up with Jaguars pace at the end.
The Formula E Madrid E-Prix was an example of what makes Formula E racing so exciting. There was strategy, unpredictability and a lot of action, on the track. Jaguar is doing well now. Da Costa is a driver to watch in the next races. The championship battle is getting more interesting. It will be fun to see what happens next.
