Bianca Bustamante delivered an exhilarating performance at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, securing her second win of the season and igniting an action-packed weekend of racing.

Starting from P2, the Filipino driver patiently trailed behind pole-sitter Abbi Pulling from Rodin Carlin, who initially created a gap to Bustamante of PREMA Racing. Marta García, the Race 1 winner, endured a challenging start, losing ground and making contact with title rival Léna Bühler, dropping her to the back of the grid alongside Emely de Heus of MP Motorsport.

Upfront, a trio of cars pulled away from the pack, with Pulling fiercely defending her lead against both Bustamante and title contender Hamda Al Qubaisi. However, Bustamante’s determination and impressive form saw her execute a daring overtake at the Ascari Chicane, swiftly claiming the lead from Pulling.

As the race progressed, Al Qubaisi made a bold move to challenge Pulling for second position but unfortunately collided with Bustamante’s rear, prematurely ending her own race. Remarkably, Bustamante’s PREMA car remained unscathed from the incident.

With the Safety Car brought out due to an incident involving Megan Gilkes and Lola Lovinfosse, the pack bunched up for an intense finish. When the Safety Car withdrew with three laps to go, Bustamante and Pulling accelerated ahead of Amna Al Qubaisi, who secured the third position. Behind, García and Bühler engaged in a heated battle for sixth place.

In the final laps, García successfully overtook Carrie Schreiner, but Bühler encountered trouble, running off the track and falling back to ninth place. Meanwhile, a collision between Chloe Chong and Maite Cáceres at the back of the grid brought the race to an end under the Safety Car.

Claiming a well-deserved victory, Bustamante expressed her excitement, stating, “It was a tough race. The P2 in qualifying really helped me. The car was amazing, and the team did an incredible job.”

With her win, Bustamante climbed to sixth in the standings, just ten points away from the top five. As the Monza weekend concluded, Marta García regained her lead over nearest rival H. Al Qubaisi. In the Teams’ Standings, PREMA Racing closed the gap to MP Motorsport to a mere 28 points after securing two race wins at their home track.
