At Phoenix Raceway Christopher Bell defended his NASCAR Cup Series victory for the third time in a row by barely beating teammate Denny Hamlin with a 0.049-second margin that established the track’s second-closest finish. The recent victory places Bell at the top of the Next Gen generation who completed three successive wins after Kyle Larson achieved this milestone in 2021.
Playing a tense and strategic game the competition progressed through its duration. Starting from the eleventh position Bell navigated through the field until he took the lead for a total of 105 laps. The race featured diverse tire approaches because teams could choose between soft high-grip rubber which operated best but decayed rapidly before requiring more complicated pit choices.
The competition reached its peak moment as eight laps remained before a caution flag stopped the race when Ty Gibbs jetted his teammate’s machine. The racing field was reduced to a last two-lap eliminator as a result of the incident. The restart commences and Bell and Hamlin conduct a side-by-side battle involving no room for compromise. Bell made his decision to win at the final turn by pushing up the track to build speed. By executing this move he prevailed over Hamlin to take the victory with Larson finishing in third position after trailing Hamlin by 0.097 seconds.
Essentially the process of dreaming up strategies while sitting represents the maximum level of ugliness. You put those tires with the red color on and you think twice about getting a stoppage before finishing 20 to 30 laps. The race went on for 10 additional laps before the second caution flag appeared. Reaching open space on the restart became the ultimate focus because no driver could make it happen. Neither of us could. Both drivers pushed each other at full speed heading to the finish line right afterward.
Chris Buescher and Josh Berry finished apart from the top three position while demonstrating outstanding results. Ten total caution flags appeared throughout the race until Lap 99 when multiple cars crashed into each other leading to the retirement of seven entries. This major accident proved that NASCAR racing remains spontaneous while victories consistently depend on tiny differences between competitors.
With his Phoenix victory Bell secured his position as an intense contender and started to establish himself as one of the title favorites for the upcoming championship run His precise execution of strategic decisions along with his high-pressure navigation skills make him stand out within the 2025 season.
Throughout the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series all spectators will focus their attention on Bell to observe his ability to sustain his remarkable progress. The upcoming race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will push Bell to demonstrate his consistency and persistence in his goal to expand his winning streak as he works to establish his permanent place in NASCAR history.
