McLaren faced a daunting challenge after Lando Norris’s car sustained significant damage in a collision with Max Verstappen during the Austrian Grand Prix. Norris didn’t mince words when he described the aftermath as the car being “destroyed,” underscoring the severity of the incident. In response, McLaren had to resort to utilizing previously damaged parts that had undergone repairs to restore the car to racing condition.

The incident forced Norris to retire from the race prematurely, adding to the team’s concerns and necessitating urgent repairs ahead of the next race at Silverstone.
