MotoGP cases are eagerly waiting to see a challenger but so far, Ducati was the winner at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix sprint where Francesco Bagnaia was followed by Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, all Ducati bikes. This strong performance confirms that Ducati will be the benchmark manufacturer to beat this year.
Sprint race win gave a considerable boost to the title aspirations of Francesco Bagnaia. It enabled him to reduce the points to the lead Jorge Martin further escalating the championship battle. After so many races, Bagnaia is proving that he is a MotoGP title contender and a threat to Martin’s dominance, as the Spanish rider continues to demonstrate that he can fight and overtake to maintain his reign.
Oliver, qualifying was not kind to Marc Marquez who crashed out but he proved his worth as a hero with a commendable fourth position. It remains to surprise the inability of such a head to manage a team, encounter failures, but still achieve great results that strengthen his authority of one of the best in athletics.
KTM was a mixed bag, but it is clear that they have potential as evidenced by the impressive race result of fifth place by Pedro Acosta. However, the fight of Brad Binder after high prospects can prompt cons to the three. These are areas they will have to deal with if they are going to have any realistic shot in the championship battle.
Yamaha can claim a performance turn around for the next races as evidenced by Fabio Quartararo in the seventh place. However, Maverick Vinales’ 10th place finish for Aprilia proved the consistency of the brand, yet they lag slightly behind Ducati in terms of supremacy.
Honda struggled further on as Luca Marini placed 16th, and the team needs enhancement desperately.
